Chief of Operations
Kevin Hartman has been a member of Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps since 2006. Kevin held the position of Sergeant at Arms during the years of 2007 and 2008, Lieutenant in 2009 and 2010, and Captain in 2011. In 2012, Kevin accepted the position of Lieutenant before taking a leave from office in 2013. Kevin returned to MVAC in 2014, serving as Vice President and Lieutenant. Kevin is recognized not only for his work as an officer at MVAC, but his service as the chairperson of the IT committee.
1st Assistant Chief
Gregory M. Kozlowski
Having originally joined the Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps in 2003, Gregory Mark Kozlowski has returned to MVAC after an 8 year break while serving as a Military Police Officer and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician in the US Army, and later the US Air Force Reserves. Currently employed in an antiterrorism role at the World Trade Center complex, Gregory is also working toward finishing his Paramedic course requirements so that he can serve the Corps as an Advanced Life Support provider.
2nd Assistant Chief
Jonathan began his career in EMS as a member of Mineola VAC’s Explorer Post 703. In September of 2004 Jonathan became a full member of the department, and served for 6 years as an EMT and EMT-CC. During this time Jonathan completed his B.A. in Biology at SUNY Geneseo where he volunteered for both Geneseo First Response and the Geneseo Fire Department; he served as Chief of Operations of Geneseo First Response for two years. Jonathan left MVAC in 2010 to pursue his B.S. in Nursing, and after settling into his career as an ICU nurse and achieving CCRN certification, he returned to MVAC in January of 2016. Jonathan remains employed as an ICU nurse and is currently enrolled at Stony Brook University pursuing his Master’s degree in the Family Health Nurse Practitioner program.
Katie Dempsey has been a member of the Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps since March of 2008. She quickly received her EMT-B certification in November of the same year. Katie served on the Board of Directors as Secretary from 2011-2014 and was elected President in 2015. Katie moved to Mineola in 2016 and is excited to begin the year as Lieutenant. When she is not volunteering her time to the department, she works as a Tax Accountant for Henry Schein in Melville.
Melissa joined the department in 2015 and obtained her EMT-Basic certification in March of 2016. As a top responder each year, she has consistently shown dedication to the department and surrounding community. Melissa has served as Vice President in 2017 and was later appointed to Lieutenant in 2018. She is currently pursuing her Advanced Life Support certification as an EMT-Critical Care.
